sweeping curves define bottega veneta's new saint tropez store

Bottega Veneta has opened a new retail space in Rue François Sibilli, Saint

Bottega Veneta has opened a new retail space in Rue François Sibilli, Saint Tropez's premiere shopping mile, just in time for the start of a buzzing summer season in the South of France. Following the opening of its Zürich flagship store flooded with Italian aesthetics and, more recently, Gaetano Pesce‘s resin-dipped installations that landed in several of its European stores, the Saint Tropez shop continues to embody Bottega Veneta's love for timeless crafts and creative ingenuity.

Matthieu Blazy, Bottega Veneta's Creative Director, led the design of the new Saint Tropez store jointly with an in-house team, seeking inspiration from the brand's poetic ‘Craft in Motion’ documentary. Described as a ‘rhythmic exploration of the house's past and present, nature and humanity, and craft and creativity,’ the short film directed by Massimilano Bomba shines a spotlight on the intimate wearer-maker relationship and the cascade of emotion and motion exchanged along the way.

With that said, the essence of the documentary comes to life throughout the store, where accent tones, flowing lines, and natural lighting engulf the items on display. Designed and developed around a palette of materials sourced from the Veneto region, the boutique offers shoppers a taste of Bottega Veneta's story, nudging them to explore further. Upon entering, one is greeted by a curved and textured backdrop coated in white plaster to expand the sense of space. These captivating curves continuously flow from the staircase to the rounded shelves, where shoes and bags take center stage.

While these items add a pop of color to the space, Matthieu Blazy featured a rich composition of wooden elements that steadily complement the store's white surfaces. From the entrance table displaying a vividly blue BV purse to the shelve separators and mirror display, these warm accent tones seamlessly reflect the incredible dynamics imbuing Bottega Veneta's essence as a fashion brand and, more importantly, a maker.

Jointly with the opening of its new Saint Tropez store, Bottega Veneta has launched the ‘Arco Basket’ bag, available in two sizes, color combinations, and designs. Interested buyers can exclusively grab this latest BV item at one of its Resort Boutiques.
